Weather conditions in January will vary between Hanoi and Siem Reap. Hanoi will be mild and cooler, with temperatures typically around 58°–70°F, while Siem Reap will be warm and sunny, with temperatures around 70°–88°F. January is one of the drier months in both destinations, making it a wonderful time to visit. We recommend packing layers for the cooler mornings and evenings in Hanoi, along with lightweight clothing for the warmer temperatures in Cambodia.

Here are a few must-have items:

• Passport (must be valid for at least 6 months beyond travel dates)
• Toiletries and medications, including any personal prescriptions
• Comfortable sneakers/walking shoes and socks
• Flip-flops or sandals
• Lightweight clothing for Siem Reap: shorts, capris, breathable pants and short-sleeve shirts
• Long pants and lightweight layers for Hanoi
• Light jacket or sweater for cooler mornings and evenings
• Lightweight rain jacket or compact umbrella
• Modest clothing for temple visits (shoulders and knees should be covered)
• Swimsuit for possible time at hotel pools and/or spas
• Sunscreen, hat and sunglasses
• Phone, laptop/tablet and chargers
• International power adapter
• Reusable water bottle
• Credit/debit cards for personal expenses

• Passport: Required. It should be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry and have blank pages.
• Vietnam visa/e-visa: Required for U.S. passport holders. Additional information will be provided by Wren International closer to the travel date.
• Cambodia visa: Required for U.S. passport holders. Additional information will be provided by Wren International closer to the travel date. 

There are no current vaccination requirements for travel to Vietnam and Cambodia

Upgrades are not available on group airline contracts. Therefore, if interested in upgrading your seats, you must contact Camille Ensign at censign@wrenintl.com before October 1, 2026. Otherwise, we won't be able to help in booking other flight options. Due to group contract policies with the airlines, we will begin issuing all tickets soon after the date above. We will then send flight confirmations to all participants @ one month prior to travel.

Travel insurance coverage is provided for the specific dates of this travel program. Such insurance can protect travelers in cases of medical emergencies, accidents, baggage delays, and possible delays with group flights. In such cases, each traveler would file a claim with the insurance provider as needed.

Additional insurance coverage leading up to the actual travel program is not provided (such as trip cancellation due to personal reasons prior to departure).

Tipping is included on all group airport transfers and confirmed group activities. For optional tours and personal activities, you are encouraged to include a tip when good service is provided.

As a general rule, we recommend all participants to be cautious while traveling, but don’t forget to also relax and enjoy your time!

Some helpful tips:

• make photocopies of your trip itinerary, credit cards, passports, and any other important documents (leaving the copies at home with a friend in case you lose this info while traveling)

• eave valuables at home

• have enough cash in case of an emergency (cash and credit cards are most secure when locked in your room safe)

• don’t lose sight of your personal belongings
• avoid using unofficial or unmarked taxis at night
• keep a low profile and avoid loud conversations or arguments
• do not discuss travel plans or other personal matters with strangers
• avoid scam artists
• beware of strangers who approach you with 'bargains' or offering to be your guide(s), as well as potential pick pockets
