Before My Trip

April in Ireland typically brings cool, mild weather with a mix of sunshine, light rain, and breezy conditions. You can expect temperatures between 50° - 60° during the day, then cooling down a bit a night (into the low 40°s). Here are a few must-have items:

  • passport (must be valid for 6 months beyond travel dates)

  • toiletries, medications (including motion sickness meds for winding roads)

  • comfortable sneakers/walking shoes, socks

  • clothing for cool temperatures: pants, jeans, long-sleeves, sweaters

  • light jacket or coat for evenings/mornings and possible rain (think layers)

  • swimsuit for possible time in hotel pools and/or spas

  • hat, scarf, gloves

  • phone, laptop, chargers

  • reusable water bottle

  • credit/debit cards for personal expenses

A passport is required for this trip and must be valid for at least 6 months BEYOND travel dates. Your passport must be shown at the airport and upon hotel check-in. Flights will be booked with the EXACT NAME that appears on the submitted passport. Visas are not required for those traveling with US passports. Those traveling without US passports should check Ireland’s visa requirements well in advance of departure.

There are no current vaccination requirements for travel to Ireland.

Ireland uses Type G outlets (the same three-prong outlets used in the United Kingdom), so travelers from the U.S. will need a plug adapter for their devices. Most phones, tablets, and laptops are dual voltage and only require an adapter; however, devices that are not labeled 100–240V will also require a voltage converter, as Ireland operates on 230V power.

Trip Extension

Yes. You have the opportunity to join the post-trip extension to Belfast for an additional cost. Click here for more details.

Flights

Upgrades are not available on group airline contracts. Therefore, if interested in upgrading your seats, you must contact Mieke White at mwhite@wrenintl.com before January 10, 2027. Otherwise, we won't be able to help in booking other flight options. Due to group contract policies with the airlines, we will begin issuing all tickets soon after the date above. We will then send flight confirmations to all participants @ one month prior to travel.

You can also purchase your own flights if so desired. Your flight plans must match up with the exact dates/times and airports as indicated on the flights page (see main menu). If this is your preference, please contact Mieke White before the date indicated above so that we can remove you from the group contract. Guests who purchase their own flights will receive a travel credit of up to $800 per person, issued as a reimbursement after the trip.

Checked bags are not included on these flights. For each individual traveler, American Airlines will charge $50 for the 1st checked bag (up to 50 lbs). When boarding the plane, travelers are allowed one (1) carry-on bag, plus one (1) small personal item (like a backpack or purse).

Due to limited cargo space on bus transfers, we do ask that each individual bring just one (1) checked bag (2 total checked bags per couple).

The Trip

  • roundtrip international flights (please refer to flights page for details)
  • premium hotel accommodations
  • group activities as indicated
  • select meals as indicated

Travel insurance coverage is provided for the specific dates of this travel program. Such insurance can protect travelers in cases of medical emergencies, accidents, baggage delays, and possible delays with group flights. In such cases, each traveler would file a claim with the insurance provider as needed.

Additional insurance coverage leading up to the actual travel program is not provided (such as trip cancellation due to personal reasons prior to departure).

Tipping is included on all group airport transfers and confirmed group activities. For optional tours and personal activities, you are encouraged to include a tip when good service is provided.

As a general rule, we recommend all participants to be cautious while traveling, but don’t forget to also relax and enjoy your time!
